about

Simply Satie is an exquisitely intimate solo piano rendition of the French composer Erik Satie's Gymnopedies and Gnossiennes. With a perfectly-timed introspective tempo, John's flawless arrangement and performance brings about a haunting stillness within. John's emotional interpretation of Erik Satie's work allows for quiet moments of deep reflection and contemplation of oneself.

John's Driftmore's style resides perfectly with the likes of Philip Glass, Max Richter, and Ludovico Einaudi. Like what the impressionist and minimalist painters, sculptures and composers of the past strived for, the profound simplicity and pure naked beauty of Simply Satie is set to make it a timeless classic.

In addition to composing and arranging, John is a University piano curator and concert technician in San Francisco, Ca. Being an native New Yorker, John has worked and trained in the New York Steinway factory. His piano passion later took him to Vienna to work and train in the Bösendorfer factory, and is a proud member of the Bösendorfer and Yamaha Piano Performance Departments.
